With its inn-like and old-fashioned store vibe, this place is a gathering spot for those seeking an authentic experience.

In this historic house, bread, pastries, and pizzas are baked in a traditional stone oven, imparting a distinct and delicate flavor and texture. Our skilled baker prefers this traditional method due to its even heat distribution, while the stone oven adds a subtle smoky flavor from the wood or charcoal used as fuel.

Bokhandel’n Bakeri & Mathus serves hearty and authentic meals based on traditions and local ingredients. For those on the go, takeaway services are also available.

In this charming timber building from 1919, the scent of books, paper, and printing ink is history. The house was originally a bookstore but was also known for its varied selection of convenience items, including photo supplies, tobacco, chocolate, fishing gear, silver, and gift items that adorned the entrance. The bookstore had tasteful interior design and a long counter, with framework and profiled fillings.

Today, the place reflects timeless elegance with an interior that invites you to enjoy the best lunch dishes and pizzas made from genuine, quality ingredients, baked using traditional methods. A well-equipped counter still stands at the center, offering guests a delightful experience. For those who prefer to enjoy their food elsewhere, takeaway is available.
