About the hotel

Among old manor houses and tenant farms nestled on small shelves on the mountainside, high above the crystal-clear Vågå Lake, where the snow-covered peaks of Jotunheimen reflect themselves, you’ll find Villa Vågå.

The hotel is situated in the beautiful mountain village of Vågå, RIGHT in the middle of the National Park Kingdom – surrounded by 5 national parks – including Dovrefjell, Rondane, and Jotunheimen. This is a hotel close to nature and Norwegian traditions, and the area offers many great hiking opportunities, both in summer and winter! The hotel features delightful 160 cm beds from Wonderland, adorned with extra luxurious duvets and pillows. All bathrooms are spacious and comfortable, equipped with body care products from Sprekenhus, a shower or bathtub, and a hairdryer. Complimentary wireless internet is available in all rooms. Adjoining rooms are available, and steamers or ironing boards with irons can be borrowed from the reception.

At Villa Bokhandel’n, located above the bakery in the heart of Vågå, guests can rent the entire floor with 10 beds and 3 bathrooms, divided between 3 suites and 1 double room. The suites are more spacious and include a mini kitchen or full kitchen, living area, dining room, and a large flatscreen TV with streaming services.

Please note: The hotel kitchen will be closed for renovation from March 24 to April 11. During this period, all meals will be served at Bokhandel’n Bakeri og Mathus, just a short walk from the hotel.

The restaurant at the hotel is called Waage Restaurant and serves hearty, delicious dishes made from local ingredients. There’s a daily special dish available every day and a la carte.

At the hotel, you’ll also find beautiful banquet halls for those very special occasions or more informal gatherings. If you wish, they can be booked for private events. We have extensive experience in tailoring the best solutions, so feel free to contact us.

The kitchen will be renovated from March 24 to April 11, 2025.

The pool measures 6×10 meters, with a depth ranging from 1 to 1.4 meters. The temperature is a steady and pleasant 30°C. The newly renovated pool and adjacent changing rooms (separate for men and women) are rented out to the local school during weekdays. However, during school holidays, we offer extended opening hours.

Tickets can easily be purchased at the reception.
